Jordan Hill - Mimio Core Skills II - 2-6-14

Inserting files- You can use files (Word docs, PPT's, PDF's, images, multimedia, etc...) that you have already created in Mimio Studio Notebook. Click here to see a brief video of the 3 methods of inserting your files.

"Screen Clipping"- This is how you can capture ANY image and bring it into Mimio Studio. You can even use the free-form tool to capture JUST the image without the background. This video refers to Mimio version 8. However, you perform the task the same with version 11. Don't forget, if you want the image to remain static on your Notebook page, "Lock" the image. Use the "Selector" tool to select your object. Then, in the menu bar at the top of the page, click "Format", "Locking" then "Lock".

"Screen Annotation" - You can use the Mimio tools to annotate over Word, PDF's, or sites from the Internet. Any time you perform the screen annotation function, it is automatically saved in your Gallery. Once your screen annotation file is in your Gallery, you can drag it into your Notebook file.

"File Attachment" - You can attach files right into your Notebook file. They become a part of the Notebook file; similar to attaching a file to an email. You can drag attached files into your Notebook software or open the files separately to annotate over them.

>You will then need to put in the license number. Please email me when you are ready to do this. I can not post the license number here but I am happy to email it to you.

Then, download the MimioMobile app to your mobile device and have your students do the same. When you all have the mobile app downloaded, follow the steps below. Also, you can view the guide and videos below for more information.

On your teacher machine, attached to your projector, open your Mimio software and click:

     >Click "Class Manager"
     >Choose your class (If you have created your class in "Gradebook", you can choose your class. If you just want to do a quick assessment for understanding, or have your students participate in the interactive lesson, just click "Anonymous".)

     >Click the QR code to enlarge it
     >Have your students open their MimioMobile app on their mobile device and scan the QR code displayed on your whiteboard.
*******EVERY MOBILE DEVICE MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE SAME WIRELESS NETWORK.*******
     >Now everyone is ready to go! As the teacher, you can decide to give control to the students of the computer or have up to 9 students collaborate with the lesson being displayed. Just use the tools at the top of your mobile device. Remember, you can always take back control by clicking the blue button on your device.
